DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Caring… it’s not the hard part of caregiving.\nThe Caregiver Support Group meets monthly from 6-7:30 PM\, facilitated by Mary Bogdan\, MHA\, BSN\, CHPN\, CHPCA.\nOur group is FREE and open to the public and meets the third Monday of the month. Please check our calendar for upcoming dates. \nThe group provides a source of emotional and social support and resources for those caring for a loved one.\nWe offer self-care strategies and tools to reduce stress and enhance coping. We welcome adults\, spouses\, family members or friends in the caregiver role to attend. \nFor those who prefer to do so\, the program is also being offered virtually via Zoom. \nPlease contact The Good News Center at 315-735-6210 Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM to register whether attending in-person or virtually. \nThe National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) and AARP collaborated on Caregiving in the U.S. 2020 – an update to the organizations’ research report series conducted roughly every five years. The 2020 update reveals an increase in the number of family caregivers in the United States of 9.5 million from 2015 to 2020. Family caregivers now encompass more than one in five Americans. The study also reveals that family caregivers are in worse health compared to five years ago.
