SUMMARY:Caregiver Support Group
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Caring… it’s not the hard part of caregiving. \nCaregivers primary challenges lie in the logistical\, emotional\, physical and financial demands\, not the love or compassion for their loved one.\nThe Caregiver Support Group’s focus is providing tangible resources\, coping mechanisms\, problem solving skills and educational tools to help caregivers feel more confident and less stressed in their roles. \nThe Caregiver Support Group meets monthly from 6-7:30 PM\, facilitated by Tina Yelle\, RN.\nOur group is FREE and open to anyone in a care giving role. \n\nMore than 59 million Americans provide care for an adult with a complex medical condition or disability\, with another 4 millions caring for a child.\n\n\n\nThe National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP have released Caregiving in the U.S. 2025\, a research report released every five years. Compared to past reports\, the proportion of Americans who are caregivers has climbed\, now standing at 24% of the U.S. adult population. \nCaregiving has also become more intense over time\, with 55% of caregivers handling medical or nursing tasks\, as well as activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing and toileting. Seventy percent of adult caregivers under age 65 are working\, and half cite impacts on their work obligations. \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n	Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.\n\n\n \n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n [/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Caregiver Support Group
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Caring… it’s not the hard part of caregiving.\nThe Caregiver Support Group meets monthly from 6-7:30 PM\, facilitated by Mary Bogdan\, MHA\, BSN\, CHPN\, CHPCA.\nOur group is FREE and open to the public and meets the third Monday of the month. Please check our calendar for upcoming dates. \nThe group provides a source of emotional and social support and resources for those caring for a loved one.\nWe offer self-care strategies and tools to reduce stress and enhance coping. We welcome adults\, spouses\, family members or friends in the caregiver role to attend. \nFor those who prefer to do so\, the program is also being offered virtually via Zoom. \nPlease contact The Good News Center at 315-735-6210 Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM to register whether attending in-person or virtually. \nThe National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) and AARP collaborated on Caregiving in the U.S. 2020 – an update to the organizations’ research report series conducted roughly every five years. The 2020 update reveals an increase in the number of family caregivers in the United States of 9.5 million from 2015 to 2020. Family caregivers now encompass more than one in five Americans. The study also reveals that family caregivers are in worse health compared to five years ago. As the demand for caregiving rises with an aging population\, there is an opportunity for the public and private sectors to work together to develop solutions to support family caregivers and those under their care.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n	Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.\n\n\n \n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n [/vc_column][/vc_row]
