Compared to past reports\, the proportion of Americans who are caregivers has climbed\, now standing at 24% of the U.S. adult population. \nCaregiving has also become more intense over time\, with 55% of caregivers handling medical or nursing tasks\, as well as activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing and toileting.
