Theology Uncorked welcomes Rev. Immanuel Agbulu, Thursday, October 15, 2026.
Rev. Agbulu’s title talk is “If Jesus was Jewish, why aren’t we?”
Jesus was Jewish. Did Jesus want to end Judaism and create an entirely new religion? The answer is no. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus says that he came to “fulfill” the Law, not to abolish it. This means that the “new covenant” he spoke about does not replace God’s promise to the Jewish people; instead, it builds upon it.
Rev. Agbulu will speak about how Christians are not Jewish today because of historical developments, not because God rejected the Jewish people.
Fr. Immanuel Agbulu serves as a priest at Sacred Heart Parish in Rome, New York.
Reservations are required by October 13, 2026.
